HALO's main focus is education, particularly that of the youth. Through mentoring relationships and internship opportunities, we remain a constant and supportive force in the education of our students.
Guiding the Next Generation
Many of our members are actively involved in mentoring students across South Florida. These relationships provide academic guidance, career insight, and personal encouragement — helping young people build confidence and set meaningful goals.
Executive Director Beatrice Cazeau mentors students from the Law Academy of Miami Edison Senior High School, offering firsthand support to those exploring legal and public-service careers.
Our mentoring and internship efforts include:
- One-on-one academic mentoring for high school students
- Career exposure through internship placements
- Guidance on college readiness and professional development
- Connections to community leaders and role models
These programs reflect HALO's commitment to being a steady, supportive presence in the lives of the students we serve.
Support Student Success
HALO also offers an Essay Contest with a $1,000 First Prize and maintains an Education Program Fund to help students pursue their goals.
